Flickr Foldr Monitr

Foldr Monitr is a free tool that runs in the background and watches a selected folder (and optionally subfolders) waiting for you to add photos to it. When photos appear in the folder, Foldr Monitr automatically uploads them to your Flickr account for you.

Set it to watch the location you transfer your photos to from your camera and they'll be automatically sent to Flickr straight away.

Photos can also be uploaded to a chosen set or to automatically generated sets based on the names of the subfolders in which they reside on your computer.

Getting Started
  1. Install Foldr Monitr by running setup.exe.
  2. If Foldr Monitr doesn't run automatically, go to the Start Menu and run it.
  3. Click "Authenticate" and log in to Flickr.
  4. Click "OK I'll allow it" and then close the browser window.
  5. Click "Finish Authentication".
  6. Click "Browse...", select a folder on your computer to monitor and decide whether or not to monitor subfolders as well.
  7. Click "Options" and change the settings to your liking.
  8. Click "Go" to start monitoring the selected folder.
When photos are added to the selected folder, they will automatically begin uploading to Flickr.
Automate photo backup to Flickr
  1. First, ensure you have
    - successfully installed Foldr Monitr on your computer.
    - authorised it to access your Flickr account.
  2. Load Foldr Monitr, go to the Options menu and check the start up options "Start watching automatically" and "Minimise to system tray".
  3. Copy a Foldr Monitr program shortcut to the "Startup" group in the Start Menu so that it will automatically start when you boot up your computer.
  4. Select the folder to monitor as above.
    TIP: If you always transfer photos from your camera to a particular location on your computer, select that folder and your photos will automatically be backed up to Flickr as soon as you transfer them from your camera.
  5. Close Foldr Monitr.
  6. Next time you boot up your computer, Foldr Monitr should load and start watching your selected folder automatically.
